The Manchester High School Class of 1973 came together as a collaborative group in February 2024.

First order of business was to plan a 52nd anniversary celebration reunion at the school. It was billed as the Grand Reunion or GRU for short and scheduled for February 2025.Much thought and effort was put into orchestrating events designed to give back to the school and students. It would culminate in the donation of a gift to the school to imprint the group’s legacy.
Grand Reunion Class of ‘73 – February 2025
1. A formal assembly was convened with the principal, teachers and 6th form student representatives with approximately 35 past students, some of whom had travelled from the US, UK and Canada. It was a rich gathering of songs from the old hymnal, prayers and a powerful message from one of the old students who is now a pastor.
2. The group conducted career speed coaching sessions for the 6a and 6b students covering a wide selection of career disciplines easily delivered by the accomplished class of 73 past students. The coaching was very well received and the students were most appreciative of the opportunity to dialogue with the professionals.
3. For the legacy gift to the school, the group decided to build a multipurpose gazebo. The school has a gazebo now which has proven to be a very valuable addition. It is used for small meetings, tutorials, classes and just a pleasant place of community for the students. So, the group decided another gazebo on the property would be more than worthwhile and the school executive concurred. The gazebo is fully funded by the group at a cost of approximately US$13,000. Ground was broken at the GRU and the gazebo is scheduled to be built during the summer of 2025 and handed over to the school in the new term in September.
4. It is important to the group that their endeavors have a lasting effect and can be sustained for future generations of students. With that in mind, the group conceptualized a Career Coaching Club or CCC. It patterns the old 4H club and is designed to be managed by students and used as a channel to provide guidance and support to students on careers and job opportunities. The Club was launched in March 2025 with the support of an assigned teacher and a leadership body of students who have been guided by members of the Class of ‘73. The club was featured during the school’s EXPO in March and sparked significant interest.
In March also, the Club organized its inaugural event. This was a presentation to the 6th form students on resume and cover letter writing, delivered by a member of the Class of ‘73.

The Career Coaching Club conceptualized by the Class of ‘73 launched at the school’s EXPO in March.

Here we are 84ites!!
No one left behind is our motto. There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to be thankful for life.
Life today is so far removed from what we experienced when we attended Manchester High School between 1979-1984. It really does seem several lifetimes removed from our current realities.
Just imagine, if we had a pandemic to the proportions of Covid-19, complete with all the current protocols in any of those school years – the most it seems we could do is pray for an early breakthrough with a vaccine.
School… well all schools would be closed. Let’s see, 1979 to 1984 there was no public access to internet, no cell phones, no tablets. Even if we had the idea for Zoom or Moodle, or Blackboard Collaborate none of these would be of any material use to us without the internet.
You must admit that with even with all the challenges of the present age, it is a great time to which we have come. We are blessed to have witnessed life metamorphosize before our very eyes. And the amazing thing is that many of us have in different ways participated in this change.
Did we say that we are blessed?

In 2024, a few classmates from Manchester High School Class of 1985 initially connected, sparking the idea for a reunion.
They created a WhatsApp group named "MHS Class of ’85 Reunion" to start communicating.
When the initial chat began, group members were asked to reach out to other Class of 85ers to recruit them to the group. Members were also asked to join a smaller planning committee. Ten class members signed up to be on the planning committee.
The group gained quick momentum and within a month or 2, there were over 90 students signed up in the group.
Excitement grew as most people were reconnecting after 40 years! Memories were shared, (especially embarrassing and funny ones), crushes were admitted or denied, and the 40-year gap began to get smaller and smaller.
Since the first meeting in April of 2024, MHS Class of ’85 has accomplished the following:
· In July 2024, MHS Class of ’85 was incorporated as a Non-Profit organization in the United States and is officially registered in the states of Georgia and New York
· Raised funds to sponsor the MHS Soccer Team to compete in the United States, July 2024
· Planned and executed their very successful epic 40th reunion weekend in Mandeville Jamaica, March 2025. Over 60 past students and teachers showed up for the celebration!
· At the reunion, Class of ’85 presented a cash donation to the school during the 2025 MHS Global Alumni Network Gala.
MHS Class of ’85 Alumni Association, Incorporated is committed to do the following:
· To promote fellowship and communication among members of the Manchester High School Class of 1985
